Terra Network Solutions, led by Angel Rodriguez, applied for Small Business (SB) and Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) certifications with the Department of General Services to strengthen their competitiveness in the state marketplace. While their SB certification was granted instantly, their DVBE application remained “Under Review” for more than 60 days — jeopardizing potential contracts that required DVBE status. 

Determined not to lose out, Angel reached out to the Orange County Inland Empire Small Business Development Center (OCIE SBDC) for help. Understanding the urgency, the SBDC contacted the Office of Small Business and DVBE Services (OSDS), where Curtis personally reviewed the application and approved the certification the same day. 

“I had been waiting months, but within 24 hours of contacting the [OCIE] SBDC, my DVBE certification was approved — and I immediately secured a contract,” shared Angel.  

Thanks to this swift action, Terra Network Solutions received its DVBE certification within a single day of contacting OCIE SBDC. Soon after, the business successfully leveraged the certification to land a state contract, opening the door to new opportunities.
