Means to Us
Innovation in California is the combination of technology, vision, support from an expansive ecosystem, and small business growth combining to create global changes. Innovation in California comes from many places, public and private, into a bold ecosystem of relentless progress.
Meet Our Director
Amy Duncan is Director of The Brink SBDC at the University of San Diego (USD). As an experienced marketing strategist, she led product management, managed corporate branding, developed marketing programs, and sold capital equipment at what is now Thermo Scientific, and directed product/marketing initiatives at a life science start up. Active in the local innovation entrepreneurial ecosystem, she is Fund Manager of the San Diego Angel Conference (SDAC) Fund III, raising over $1.7M from mostly first-time angel investors in four months that invested in five companies.
She serves as communications chair for the San Diego Entrepreneurs Exchange (SDEE) and is a member of the Marketing and Membership Committee for the Angel Capital Association (ACA) and member of NuFund Venture Group (TCA-SD). Amy earned a BS in biochemistry from UC Davis and an MBA from San Diego State University.
